He was predeceased by: his parents, Leon Walker Meeks Sr. and Erna Doss Meeks; and his siblings, Leon Walker Meeks Jr. and Lillie Byrd Tomlin. He is survived by: his wife Julia Tucker Meeks; his children, James "Jay" Iveland Meeks Jr. (Bronwyn), Phillip Walker Meeks (Jessica) and LeAnne Tucker Meeks (Kimberly); his brother Ronald "Ronnie" Dale Meeks (Betty); and his grandchildren, Tucker, Jacob, Ellie and Clair. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
