Rosalind O. Mays Obituary

With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Rosalind O. Mays of Madison Heights, Virginia, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on August 18, 2025. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Garfield Mays and Avirl Wood Mays. She is survived by: her sister June Mays Rose; her niece Renee Rose Flowers; her nephew Renard Rose; her great-nephew Jordan R. Rose; her great-niece Sierra R. Rose; her Sister-Cousins, Stephanie Braxton Johnson, Michele Thompson Penick and Shelby Wood Penn; and her goddaughters, Gena Penick and Nina Warrick Jones. She is also survived by cousins and many loving friends.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Rosalind O. Mays Fund at the Greater Lynchburg Community Foundation.
