He was predeceased by: his father Galen Metzger; his sons, Bradley R. Metzger, Jr. and Jeffrey A. Metzger; his siblings, Edward Metzger, David Metzger, Barbara Anderson and Mary Glick; and his granddaughter Chasitie Frazier.

He is survived by: his wife Phyllis McCutcheon Sharp Metzger; his children, Donna Metzger DeJarnette (Elliott), Bonnie Marie Walker (Paul Bodette), Jeanette L. Calhoun (Jason), A. Todd Sharp (Pam) and Roderick E. Sharp; his grandchildren, William P. Matiernan (Billy), Erin M. Huckaba, Joseph L. Sachs, Rachael McGinnis, Ashley Sharp, Austin Sharp, Tyler Sharp, Alexia Sharp, Zachary Dove, McKenzie Dove, Katelyn Pardue, Kelsey DeJarnette and Elliott DeJarnette (Will); and his great grandchildren, Piper Huckaba, Luna Huckaba, Ava Sachs, Sophie Sachs, Hunter Sharp, Paxton Sharp and Gabe Frazier.
