It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Charles J Bartola of Madison, Virginia, born in New York, New York, who passed away on April 14, 2024, at the age of 93, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by : his wife Bernadette Jean Bartola; his brother Romeo John Bartola; his siblings-in-law, Barbara Mokszycki, Michael Mokszycki and Stephen W. Clark; and his grandson Bradley Belcher.

He is survived by : his daughters, Roseanne Bartola, Mary Payne and Ellen Bartola; his sons-in-law, John Dacus, Herman Payne and Matthew Grove; his sister Jo Ann Clark; his brother-in-law Bernard Albrecht (Betty Albrecht); his grandchildren, Jason Matthews, Mary Matthews (Jason), Charles Payne, Christopher Payne and Ian Grove; and his great grandchildren, Mya Matthews, Logan Matthews and Jackson Payne. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, grand nieces and nephews.

Visitation was held on Monday, April 22nd 2024 from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Clore-English Funeral Home (11190 James Monroe Hwy, Culpeper, VA 22701). A funeral Mass was held on Tuesday, April 23rd 2024 at 10:30 AM at the Our Lady of the Blue Ridge Catholic Church (692 Lonnie Burke Rd, Madison, VA 22727).

Flowers are welcome or a donation in lieu of flowers can be made in his name to the giver's preferred charity.
