We are sad to announce that, on October 5, 2023, at the age of 97, Joseph Edmond Wayne Thompson (Madison, Virginia) passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Myron Burnam Thompson and Prudence Berry Jones Thompson of Falls Church, VA.; and his son Jonathan Thompson (Joy). He is survived by: his wife Mary Gray Thompson of Virginia; his children, Carol Debuhr (Dale), Nancy King, David Thompson (Debi), Rebecca Bohler (David) and Mary Stallard (Vance); and his sister Myra. He is also survived by Mom and Pop have 13 grandchildren, 35 great grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, please make monetary contributions to the Rapidan Baptist Camp Memorial Fund, P.O.Box 10, Rochelle, Va. 22738.

For Mary and her family, and her friends, it is a great loss, for now, until we all join him with Jesus! Wayne Thompson was Moses to the Hine family in IN. Mom (Betty Hine), my sister, Sheryl Kane, and her husband, Rich, all came to Christ under his preaching. Nelson Pettit (Wayne ordained), led me (Dave) to Christ. PTL!”
