We are sad to announce that, on October 17, 2022, at the age of 79, Richard Franklin Schmitt of Madison, Virginia, born in Houston, Pennsylvania passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Ralph Schmitt and Catherine Schmitt (Magerkurth); his daughter Heather; his brother Ralph; and his brother-in-law Ronald.
He is survived by: his wife Judy; his children, Richard F. Schmitt Jr. (Maryann) and Beth S. Zimmerman (James); his grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Meghan, Jessica, Eden, Steven (Whitney), Philip (Carly) and Shannon (John); his brothers, William, Douglas (Kathy), Raymond (Shirley) and Gregory; his sisters-in-law, Marsha (Bill) and Joyce; and his goddaughter Michelle (Murphy). He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
