He was predeceased by: his parents, Otis Stonewall Kilby and Anne Ellen Updike Kilby; and his wife Phyllis Clore Kilby. He is survived by: his siblings, Thomas Franklin Kilby (Nancy) of Richmond, Virginia, James Edward Kilby of Slate Mills and Jean Minnis of Rockingham, Virginia.; his grandchildren, Coleman Hitt (Lindsey) of Minneapolis and Ashleigh Blasey (Bobby); Yvonne Kilby-Howard (Duane) of Princeton, Minnesota, Valora Kilby of Box Elder, Jonita Henshaw (Jube) of Culpeper and Teresa Hewitt (James) of Spotsylvania.
