He was predeceased by: his parents, John Barger and Virginia Barger; and his wife Linda Jean Richards. He is survived by: his daughters, Lori (Jeff) and Sheri (Kurt); his grandchildren, Kelly (Chase), Madison, Sarah (Asher) and Alexandra; his brother Darryl Barger; his sister-in-law Donna; and his nieces and nephews, Jessica and DJ.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in his honor to the St Thomas United Methodist Church Local Relief Fund.

“I met Barry through various steel projects over 40 years ago. We both also participated with the SENRAC process to craft new OSHA standards for the steel industry, AWS to codify welding procedures and AISC through numerous updates to the Code of Structural Steel Standard Practice Committee. We did not always agree but I will miss those spirited discussions. I thank his family, who I know he was devoted to, for allowing me to share those moments. RIP my friend. Jim Larson”
