He was predeceased by: his parents, Ellen Stewart and Arthur Stewart; his brothers, Jasper Stewart and Arthur Curry (Mary); and his daughter Jane Ellen Taylor (Robert Sr.).

He is survived by: his wife Jane; his children, Curtis Jr., Joseph (Nicole), Talande Smith (David), Kristin Stewart and Tameco Jackson (Duane); and his siblings, Robert (Loretta), Warnell Stewart, Carolyn Jackson and Cyd Henderson (Wayne). He is also survived by many other relatives and friends.
