She was predeceased by: her husband James Samuels, Jr.; her parents, Donald Robinson and Gladys Jacquita (Ferguson); and her brother William M. "Billie" Rigney. She is survived by: her daughters, Jacqueline, Julia and Tanya; her brothers, Anthony G. "Skip" Robinson and Frederick E. "Fred" Rigney; her grandchildren, Alex, Nikolas, Alaina, Christopher and Justin; her pets, Leo, Abigail and River; and her siblings, Starla (Greg), Sterling and Stephen Jackson. She is also survived by nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that contributions be made towards cancer research and treatment through UVA Health or Sloan Kettering in memory of Donna Samuels. • UVA Health in support cancer research:
