“Oh Jim, you have been my favorite ILishman. Who will eat Pho noodles with me or share Chinese/Irish jokes? Perhaps you can persuade St Patrick to add noodles to his diet or adopt noodles instead of eating only potatos. Don't forget to start a new tong chapter over yonder. When I join you, you may manage the brewery and I handle the casino. My condolence to Lola, Robin, Curt and the four grandkids. We know Jim is now in a better place. Jim, I will miss you.”

“I met Jim Porter the first day he and I started high school at John Carroll. I liked him immediately and realized that we came from the same kind of homes with the same faith and values. We stayed friends all through high school and although we didn’t stay in touch after graduation I never forgot Jim and our friendship. We touched base again over the years at high school reunions and started our friendship over via phone and an annual lunch at the Quarterdeck. I will miss him a lot.”
