She was predeceased by: her father Charles; her son David Elkins; her fiancé David Owens; and her siblings, Elnor Wright, Elsie Elkins, Mable Moore, Lucille Walker, Earl Elkins and Charles Elkins, Jr..

She is survived by: her daughter Tanya Montero; her grandchildren, Angela Montero, JaJuan Montero, Anthony Moreno and Christopher Moreno; her brothers, Allen Elkins (Beverly) and Johnny Elkins (Bonnie); and her caregiver Nichelle Thomas. She is also survived by ten nieces, seven nephews, and many great nieces and nephews.
