She is survived by: her husband Samuel James Garman; and her children, Ronald, Dennis, Mark, Jill, Gail and BethAnn. She is also survived by sixteen grandchildren and twenty-two great grandchildren.

During her time in Mt. Jackson, Ruth became an active member of St. John Bosco Catholic charity, helping the less fortunate.
