He was predeceased by: his parents, Clinton Sexton and Amanda Lessie Sexton; and his siblings, Wayne Sexton, Oscar Sexton, Staley Sexton, Wilma Russell, Lena Reedy and Shirley Wyatt.
He is survived by: his wife Norase Della Sexton; his sons, Jeffrey Sexton and Keith Sexton; and his sister Frances Shupe. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
