He is survived by: his wife Ann Lee Howard; his son Brian Howard; his sisters, Rosie Rice, Louelgie Daniels, Irene Ward, Grethel Taylor and Pauline Neal (Greg); his sisters-in-law, Lavone Ratliff and Sylvia Hill; and his close friend Gary Boyd. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews.
