It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Robert Mathena of Marion, Virginia, who passed away on April 25, 2025, at the age of 91, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, James Robert Mathena and Ollie Mae Parsons Mathena; his wife Nancy Carolyn Mathena; his daughter Teresa Mathena Greer; and his siblings, Goldie Richardson, Helen Testerman and Kenny Mathena.

He is survived by: his sons, Tim Mathena (Shannon) and Ronnie Mathena (Regina); his close friend Judy Suits; his brother Donald Mathena (Thelma); his grandchildren, Caleb Brewster, Brittany Dixon (Matthew), Zach Mathena (Cheyenne), Dustin Greer (Amy) and Jessica Medley (David); his great grandchildren, Bryson Medley, Chloe Medley, Finn Medley, Ariana Dixon, Alaina Dixon, Cheyenne Greer and Rylee Greer; and his stepgrandson Riley Piek. He is also survived by nieces, nephews.
