He was predeceased by: his parents, William Collett and Harriett Virginia Polen Ellison; his siblings, William Neville Ellison, Louis Osborne Ellison, Louise Belva Ellison Light, Harry Meredith Ellison, Rolfe Kimble Ellison, Thelma Muriel Ellison Webb and Claudine Titus Ellison Hutchison; his siblings' children, Lester Desmond "Dee" Hutchison, Rumsey Smithson Light, Jr., Wallace Hook and Juanita Ellison Edmondson; and his former wife Christine Ellison.
He is survived by: his wife Patricia Ann Chabot; his children, Virginia "Ginger" Louise Ellison and Galen Roger Ellison, Jr.; his grandson Ryan Ellison; his sibling's children, Rolfe Henry "R. H." Ellison (Janie), Meredith Kimble "Kim" Light, Robin Ellison Grove (Stosh), Sylvia Light Hook, Glenn Raymond Webb (Marion) and Bernadette Light; and his sisters-in-law, Mary Krisel (Stu), Donna Chabot and Anita McFall (Hassell).
Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 12th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Royston Funeral Homes - Marshall (4125 Rectortown Rd, Marshall, VA 20115). A memorial service will be held on Sunday, October 12th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to: Marshall Volunteer Rescue Squad or American Cancer Society.
