He was predeceased by: his parents, Esco Wood and Leila Wood (Pruitt). He is survived by: his wife Derenda Wood (Gordon); his daughter Teresa (Wood) Lopez (Juan); his grandchildren, Philip Lopez of Caruthers, Isaac Lopez of Caruthers, Anna Lopez of Caruthers, Joshua Lopez of Caruthers, Samuel Dillard Lopez of Caruthers, Alyssa Lopez of Caruthers, Benjamin Lopez of Caruthers, Kara (Lopez), Sierra (Joey) and Lemoore; and his siblings, Gladys Palmer (John) of Nicholson, Patsy Wilbanks (Johnny) of Maysville, Georgia, Gene Wood of Nicholson, Bill Wood (Carol) of Commerce and Danny Wood (Cathy) of Winterville.
Visitation was held on Friday, October 2nd 2026 at 1:00 PM and on Monday, October 5th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. A funeral service was held on Friday, October 2nd 2026 at 2:00 PM and on Monday, October 5th 2026 at 11:00 AM.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that memorial gifts be made to support the prison ministry of Rev. & Mrs. Dennis Morgan of Lower Lights Ministries, who have faithfully ministered in numerous prisons throughout several states for decades.
