He was predeceased by: his grandfather Elder Golden Carter; his parents, John Henry Carter and Amelia Davis Carter; his siblings, Jack Carter, James Carter, John Henry Carter, Robert Carter, Sr., James "Lil Bit" Carter, William Carter, Eddie Carter, Gabriel Carter, Gerald Carter, Alice Carter, Willie Anderson Anthony, Bertha Davidson and Rosa Lee Carter; his significant other Rev. Della Choate Carter; and his daughter Sharri Lafaune.
He is survived by: his children, Minister Andrea L. Carter (Donna) and Rev. Joseph Carter (Cynthia); his granddaughters, Sharri "LaFaune" Carter, Seona LaMirr Carter (Keedeam Dodson) and Chelsea Nicole Carter Wall (Tyrone); his great grandchildren, Jaida Carter, Darion Duncan, Cameron Fuller, Jah-Ni Paines, Aiden Bradley and Kaliyah Bradley; his great great grandchild Harmony Belton; his godson Lee Hagwood; his daughter Dinah Clements; his sisters-in-law, Louise Carter of Jersey City, NJ and Barbara Carter of Fernandina Beach, FL; and his close friends, Shirley Jeffress Davis, Conny Bryson and James Thomas Martin. He is also survived by grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and friends.
