He was predeceased by: his parents, Joe Burke Mitchell Sr. and Mozelle Seay Mitchell. He is survived by: his children, Jodi Matthews, Ashley Matthews Kidd, Christina Kinzer (Kody) and Joe Burke Mitchell, III; his siblings, Ressie Parker (Rodney), Shannon Mitchell, Jeff Mitchell (Farana), Vincent Mitchell (Kimberly) and Nicholas Mitchell; and his grandchildren, A'Nyshia Matthews, Amarriyah "Tink" Matthews, Brooklyn DeShazo, Ka'Mari Hairston, James Kinzer and Juniper Kinzer. He is also survived by numerous extended family members and friends.
