He is survived by: his wife Cheryl Reaves Peeples; his son John Taylor Peeples Jr. (Chelsea Makin Peeples); his grandchildren, Anna Rose Peeples, Abram Thomas Peeples and Asa John Peeples; his son William Anderson Peeples (Virginia Anne Peeples); his granddaughter Eleanor "Nora" Reaves Peeples; his brothers, Chester Weir "Chet" Peeples III, David Collins Peeples (Leslie) and Guy Langley Peeples (Theresa); and his siblings' children, Tatiana Boucher (Maxim), Brad "Henry" Reaves (Sarah), Lizzy Curl Reaves, Seth Richards (Jenna), Merylann Campbell (Zachary), Channing Peeples, Collins Peeples (Leslie), Houston Peeples (Callie) and Brooke Peeples (Brandon Broadfoot).
A memorial service was held on Friday, December 12th 2025 at 4:00 PM at the Forest Hills Presbyterian Church (725 Beechnut Ln, Martinsville, VA 24112). A funeral service was held on Saturday, December 13th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Blacksburg Presbyterian Church (701 Church St SE, Blacksburg, VA 24060).
