He is survived by: his children, Clairesa "Reese" Scales of Charlotte, Lavinia Scales of Reidsville, NC and Landon Scales; his siblings, Claudia Scales of Ridgeway, Virginia and George Scales, Jr. of Ridgeway, Virginia; and his caregiver Kim Johnson. He is also survived by ten grandchildren; one great-grandchild; three aunts; three uncles.
