She was predeceased by: her parents, Nathan Cleveland "Cleve" Riddle and Berta Eanes Riddle; her husband James Howard Smith, Sr. (Buck); her son James Howard Smith, Jr.; her siblings, Alease Cox, Doris Wells, Gertrude Payne, Mary Ann Deal, Clarence (Dude), Douglas, Forrest, N. C., Richard and Lloyd Riddle; and her sister-in-law Angeline Martin Riddle (John D. Plum).

She is survived by: her son Kenneth Michael Smith; her grandchildren, Ginger Gardner, Rhett Smith and Dean Bruton; and her sister-in-law Ellen B. Riddle. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
