She was predeceased by: her parents, Eulam S. Short and George O'Dell Rowland; her husband Kernie McCoy Smart; her daughter Charlotte Bowers; and her sister Annie Mae Moore.
She is survived by: her grandchildren, Michele Ingram (Joe) and Michael Bowers (Brandi); her great grandchildren, Amber Ingram, Chase Ingram, Landen Bowers, Kristen Sawyers and Teagan Bowers; and her great great grandchildren, Brayleigh Bowden, Mason Flanneary, Remington "Remy" Ingram, Liam Spina and Ryder Martin. She is also survived by extended family and dear friends.
Visitation will be held on Friday, June 13th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Bassett Funeral Service (3665 Fairystone Park Hwy, Bassett, VA 24055). A funeral service will be held on Friday, June 13th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the same location. A burial will be held on Friday, June 13th 2025 at the Roselawn Burial Park (103 Clearview Dr, Martinsville, VA 24112).
