She was predeceased by: her parents, Jodie Green and Elise Winborne Green; her husband Charles Chavis; her sister Ida Juanita Green; and her stepson Shervin Perry.
She is survived by: her children, Donnie Chavis (Rhonda) of Denver Colorado, Charles Chavis (Janice) of Martinsville, VA and Doneice Chavis-Woods (Christopher) of Highland Park, MI; and her siblings, John Jodie Green, Dora Sharp and Carolyn Jones. She is also survived by seven grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.
A memorial service was held on Saturday, October 18th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the C. R. V. Memorial Chapel at Hairston Funeral Home (301 Fayette St, Martinsville, VA 24112).
