She was predeceased by: her parents, John Junior Ashby and Mamie Minter Ashby; her husband Roger Leonard Barnes; her sister Linda Ashby Secrest; and her son John Michael Barnes.
She is survived by: her son Roger Leonard Barnes, Jr..
