He was predeceased by: his father James Paul Chappell, Jr.. He is survived by: his mother Elizabeth Ann Stanley Chappell; his siblings, Sherry Vaughan (Brian) and Scott Lewis Chappell; his nephews, Keith Vaughan (Haley) and Brandon Vaughan (Kylie); his great-nieces, Emily Vaughan and Lizzie Vaughan; his great-nephew Dylan Vaughan; and his pet Rosie. He is also survived by cousins, other family members and friends.
A celebration of life was held on Saturday, September 19th 2026 from 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Wright Funeral Service Martinsville Chapel (1425 Greensboro Rd, Martinsville, VA 24112).
