He was predeceased by: his parents, Lee Hudgins and Edith Ripley Hudgins; his daughter Cathy Hudgins Turner; his son-in-law Jeff Turner; his sister Louise Hudgins Cherry; and his brother-in-law Vernon Cherry.
He is survived by: his son Al Hudgins (Mathews); his significant other Rosalyn; his grandchildren, Brian Turner (Kristin) of Norfolk, Peter Turner of Chesapeake, Hilary Hudgins (Niko) of Norwich, England and Graham Hudgins (Mary) of Norristown; and his great grandchildren, Elliott Turner, Catherine Turner, Emmaline Turner and Natalie Turner. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
