He was predeceased by : his wife Dorothy "Dot" Haufler; his daughter Elizabeth "Beth" Haufler; and his grandson Evan M. Haufler. He is survived by : his children, Robert E. "Bob" Haufler (Maggie), Timothy R. "Tim" Haufler and Julie A. Willaford (Paul). He is also survived by twelve grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

“Dear Julie and family, We were so sorry to learn of Ed's passing. He was a truly dear man. We enjoyed working and playing with him and Dot when we were members at Stratford Hills UMC. They always lit up a room and worked so hard being God's light to many, many people. We have missed Dot in our Emmaus reunion group for years. Bud and I also enjoyed square dancing with them and being on the State Fair Senior Ambassador staff. Allways helping someone else. Bud & Margaret Burke”
