With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Michael Thomas Hutson of Mathews, Virginia, born in Bavon, Virginia, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on February 10, 2026 at the age of 78. He was predeceased by: his parents, Oliver Hutson and Mary Hurst Hudgins; his siblings, Charlene Maxwell and Ronald Hutson; and his granddaughter Deanna Haywood.

He is survived by: his wife Ruth Ann; his children, Neale (Stephanie), Ryan Hutson (Wendy), Ann Marie Wesley (Ed) and Kenneth Burroughs (Mary Beth); his grandchildren, Dustin, Drake, Autumn, Jensin, Tegan, Ethan, Anna, Keira, Logan, Caden, Lee and Louis; his great grandchild Bryson; his brother-in-law Jack Maxwell (Cheryl); his nephew Mark Maxwell (Christy); and his great-nephew John Mark Maxwell.
