He was predeceased by: his parents, George Haywood and Inez Diggs Callis; and his wife Marlene. He is survived by: his children, Lisa Lewis (John Craig) of Mathews and Captain David Callis (Carla) of Mathews; his sister Barbara Chapman (Jimmy); and his sister-in-law Renee Callis (Skip). He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 26th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Faulkner Funeral Homes, Foster-Faulkner Chapel (160 Main St, Mathews, VA 23109). A funeral service will be held on Monday, October 27th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Gwynn's Island Baptist Church (2011 Old Ferry Rd, Gwynn, VA 23066). A burial will be held on Monday, October 27th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the Gwynn's Island Cemetery.
