He was predeceased by: his parents, Arthur Porter Thomas and Eula Louise Morrison Thomas. He is survived by: his wife Sandra Layne Thomas; his siblings-in-law, Joan Hardin of Wytheville, Sue Coleman (Harold) of Piney and Mark Layne (Kaye) of Wytheville; his nieces and nephews, Jimmy Hardin (Mary) of LaCrosse, VA, Howie Coleman (Cyndi) of Piney, Jennifer Bailey (Chris) and Beth Ann Grizzle (Darrel); his great-nephew Jon Hardin (Lindsey); his great-nieces, JoBeth Hardin (Stuart), Ellie Grace Bailey, Madison Coleman and Lauren Snavely; his pet John Henry; Wayne, Iretta Umberger, Bobby, Elaine Thomas, Dean Wright and Eddie Stoots.
