He was predeceased by: his parents, Russell Everett Hicks and Margaret Belcher Hicks; and his son Russell Everett Hicks. He is survived by: his wife Cateena Hicks; and his son William A. Hicks of Max Meadows. He is also survived by 9 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, May 17th 2026 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Barnett Funeral Chapel (325 Church St, Wytheville, VA 24382). A funeral service will be held on Sunday, May 17th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the same location. A burial will be held on Sunday, May 17th 2026 at the West End Cemetery (1825 W Lee Hwy, Wytheville, VA 24382).
