He was predeceased by: his parents, Charlie Rice and Carma Rice (Willis); and his siblings, Wilma Stewart, Marie Stiltner (Brenda Sue Justus), Gary Rice and Cecil Rice.

He is survived by: his siblings, Garman Rice (Wilma J.) of Maxie, VA, Roy Rice of Vansant, VA, Dicey Ann Stewart (Denny) of Elkhorn City, KY and Clara Mae Beller of Harman, VA.. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
