She was predeceased by: her husband Leo Caudell "Scotty" Scott; and her siblings, George Mitchell, Jack Mitchell, Lovis Countiss, Mae Belle Sartain, Joy Taylor and Everett Mitchell.
She is survived by: her children, Patricia Williams (Dewey) and Kim Scott (Cyndee); her grandchildren, Mitch Scott (Kelly), Matt Scott (Lynn), Dustin Williams (Amber) and Jessica Hoffman (Aaron); her great grandchildren, Reid, Emma Scott, Addy, Olivia, Hannah Scott, Layla Williams, Charlie Kate and Henry Hoffman; her sisters-in-law, Marlene Mitchell and Susan Mitchell; and her caregivers, Amy, Angela, Cyndi, Sequoia and Valerie.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, September 20th 2026 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the McCoy Funeral Home (150 Country Club Dr SW, Blacksburg, VA 24060). A funeral service will be held on Sunday, September 20th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the McCoy Funeral Home Chapel (150 Country Club Dr SW, Blacksburg, VA 24060).
In lieu of flowers, Rubye requested that donations be made to Blue Ridge Christian Camp in McCoy, PO Box 428, McCoy, VA 24111.
