The memory of Nelson W. Sheets of McGaheysville, Virginia, who passed away on November 18, 2025 at the age of 91, will forever remain in the hearts of those touched by this precious presence in their lives. He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter Sheets and Minnie Sheets (Wampler); and his siblings, Calvin Sheets, Roy Sheets and Erma Wood.
He is survived by: his wife Martha Lou Sheets (Smith); his children, Kimly Schlabach (Richard) and W. Keith Sheets (Jennifer); and his grandchildren, Dustin Schlabach (Christine), Jill Maier (Jake), Jared Sheets (Ashley), Jacob Sheets (Layla), Caleb Sheets and Joshua Sheets (Claudia). He is also survived by 8 great-grandchildren.
A memorial service was held on Sunday, November 23rd 2025 from 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Mill Creek Church of the Brethren (7600 Port Republic Rd, Port Republic, VA 24471).
In lieu of flowers, donations may be given in Nelson's memory to the Forever Family Fund of Bridgewater Retirement Community - BRC Foundation, 302 North Second St, Bridgewater, VA 22812.
