He was predeceased by : his parents, George H. Blakey and Josephine Blakey (Beasley) of McGaheysville, Virginia.; and his siblings, Charlotte Whitelow (Blakey), Catherine Williams (Blakey), William, James, George, Arthur, Harry and Abraham Blakey.

He is survived by : his children, Derick Robert Blakey of Florida and Robin Lynn Key of North Carolina; his siblings, Joseph Blakey of Pottstown, Wilson Blakey of McGaheysville and Sarah Sampson of Harrisonburg; his sister-in-law Lueveina Blakey of Pottstown; his grandchildren, Justin Blakey of Pennsylvania, Landon Blakey of Florida, Darian Blakey of North Carolina, Austin Key (Chelsea) of North Carolina and Braxton Key of Colorado; and his great grandchild Lennox Key of Colorado. He is also survived by nieces, nephews and friends.
