It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Stephen Knighten of McGaheysville, Virginia, who passed away on November 22, 2025, at the age of 72, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Fred Harrison and Margarett Catherine Whetzel Knighten; his son-in-law Everett Reed; and his siblings, Frankie Whetzel, Billy Whetzel and Carolyn Runion.
He is survived by: his children, Steven Evan, Laurie Cubbage (Oscar), Stephanie Clatterbuck (Scott), Cynthia Seekford (Mark), Diana Spruhan (Guy), Stephen Knighten Jr. (Nadina), Rebecca Brock (Tony), Elizabeth Knighten (Danny), Angela Knighten (Brandon) and Jeremy Knighten; his siblings, Galen Knighten, Ricky Ritchie and Frances Michael; and his grandchildren, Brandon, Sierra, Makayla, Jessica, Brianna, Courtney, Antone, Colton, Lyndin, Ethan, Trevor, Kylan, Kaitlyn, Kira, Guy IV, Jalyn, Finnley, Kaylee, Brooklyn, Trenton, Morgan, Kayden, Brantley, Landon, Brielle, Liem, Zakaree, Adalyn and Zayne.
