He was predeceased by: his parents, George Mason, Sr. and Annie Belle Neverson Mason. He is survived by: his wife Carolyn Epes Mason; his son Christopher Mason of Petersburg, Virginia; his siblings, Phyllis Massenburg of Stony Creek, Catherine Gregory of Disputanta, Virginia and John T. Mason (Sarah) of Waverly, Virginia; his sisters-in-law, Rose Marie Hayes of Blackstone, VA and Wilma Gene Bush of Colonial Heights, VA; his nieces, Katrina Brown (Maurice) of Brunswick County and Sharon Hayes of Blackstone, Virginia; and his friends, Sylvester Cornelious of Minden and Herman S. Wyche of Raleigh. He is also survived by other nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
