He is survived by : his wife Martha Hart Stone; his daughter Tina Maitland; his son-in-law Roy Dale Maitland of Darvills; his granddaughter Kelsey Marie Maitland of Richmond; his brothers, Thomas D. Stone (Susan P.) of Dinwiddie, Wallace Edward "Moe" Stone of Dinwiddie and Richard Alan "Bones" Stone (Susan L.) of Dinwiddie; his brothers-in-law, J. N. Gibbs of Dolphin, VA and Eugene M. Hart of Hopewell; and his nieces and nephews, Michelle Stone Finch, Katie Lorraine Stone, Amber Davis Tapp, Kelly J. Hart, DeAnna Hart, Michael Stone, Jamie Gibbs and Jody Gibbs.

“What a great guy!!!! I know Mrs. Stone will miss him terribly and will be in our prayers. I only hope that she and Tina and Kelsey and Roy Dale will be close for each other during this time. I am so sorry I couldn't be at the service as I always have felt supported and loved by these amazing folks. They just don't come any better than this family and I know they will make it thru but a great family man and one of impeccable values has been lost but he will be waiting in heaven 100%”
