He was predeceased by: his parents, Lloyd Hawthorne and June Hawthorne; his brother Steve Hawthorne; and his wife Linda Lilley Hawthorne. He is survived by: his children, Matt Hawthorne (Kellie), Mary Beth Howerton (Kyle) and Amanda Makela; his grandchildren, Miranda Rider, Jason Rayner Jr., Aiden Hawthorne, Lexi Howerton, Kyle Rider and Brandon Rayner; and his nephew Jay McFalls.
His devotion included Granddaddy Daycare, Granddaddy Uber, Granddaddy Academy during COVID, and being their biggest cheerleader for their many activities throughout their childhoods.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to McKenney Dixie Youth Baseball or Dinwiddie Dixie Youth Softball.
