He is survived by: his wife Adeline Trotter of Dinwiddie, VA.; his children, Joyce Trotter Starks (late Paul), Garry Trotter, Thomas J. Trotter (Shannette), Devel Trotter Beasley (Larry), Donna Trotter Taliaferro (Richard) and Letitia Trotter; his brother Deacon Robert Trotter; and his grandchildren, Donnell Winfield, Cecil Winfield, Sierra Williams, Jon Starks (Crystal), Thomas Terry, Bryant Tery (Sandra), Garry Trotter, Jr., Shavakia Richardson (Darious), Thomas Trotter (Rebecca), Tharelle Trotter (Brittany), Terry Blackwell, Tharonie Trotter and Shemikka Russell. He is also survived by great grandchildren, relatives, friends.

Viewing was held on Friday, August 28th 2026 from 12:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Joseph M. Johnson and Son Funeral Home - Petersburg Chapel (530 S Sycamore St, Petersburg, VA 23803). A funeral service was held on Saturday, August 29th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the First Baptist Church-West Petersburg (25720 Greensville Ave, Petersburg, VA 23803).
