He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles and Beatrice; his brother Charles; and his sisters-in-law, Patricia and Susan.

He is survived by: his wife Nancy McDonald Mason; his children, Ann Mason Rigby and Charles Adams Mason; his son-in-law Sam Rigby; his grandchildren, Charlie and Anna Rigby; and his brother William. He is also survived by thirteen nieces and nephews.
