We announce the death of Shirley S Kenny of McLean, Virginia, who passed away on September 3, 2026, at the age of 92. Shirley will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. She was predeceased by: her parents, Marcus Strum and Florence Strum; her son Joel Strum Kenny; her brother Stanley Strum of Waco, Texas; and her husband Robert Wayne Kenny.
She is survived by: her son David; her daughter-in-law Anne of Frederick, Maryland; her children, Daniel, Jonathan of Alexandria, Virginia and Sarah Kenny Azzara of McLean, Virginia; her daughter-in-law Deborah Kenny of New York; her grandchildren, Avraham Kenny (Mallory Little) of Durham, Chava Kenny (Anthony Bator) of Southborough, Rachel Kenny of Washington, D. C. and Casper Azzara of McLean, Virginia; and her great grandchildren, Tyler Joel Kenny of Southborough, Massachusetts and Nessa Sage Kenny of Durham.
A memorial service was held on Wednesday, September 9th 2026 at 1:30 PM at the Temple Rodef Shalom (2100 Westmoreland St, Falls Church, VA 22043). A burial was held on Wednesday, September 9th 2026 at the King David Memorial Gardens (7482 Lee Hwy, Falls Church, VA 22042).
