With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Edith Jacqueline Allgood Barnette (Mechanicsville, Virginia), who passed away on February 27, 2026 at the age of 86. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her husband A. Francis Barnette, Jr.; and her parents, Archie "Tacket" Allgood and Jeanette Allgood. She is survived by: her children, Barry Barnette (Kristie) and Mary Winslow (David); her grandchildren, Justin, Ashleigh Barnette, Allison and Caleb Winslow; and her sister Paula Oslin. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to New Bethesda Baptist Church in her memory or to a charity of your choice.
