She was predeceased by: her mother Naomi Brittle; and her uncle Harry Thompson, Jr.. She is survived by: her husband Emmett Ellen, Jr.; her children, Emmett Ellen III (Wendy) and Janet Phifer (Johnny); her grandchildren, Ben Phifer (Emma), Katie Foster (Michael), Thomas Phifer and Michael Ellen (Lilly); her great grandchildren, Violet Foster and Scarlett Ellen; and her sister Marilyn Lovell (Larry).
