She was predeceased by : her parents, Robert Lee Ward, Sr. and Virginia Rose Brown Ward; her son Michael Wessells; her grandson Tyler Ward; her siblings, Robert Ward, Jr., Emma Ward, Terry Ward and Cheryl Rivera; and her close friends, Diana Brown and Linda Riviera.
She is survived by : her children, Thomas J. Wessells, Jr. (Missy) of Melfa, VA, Virginia Guzman, Tina Morales (Tony Ramirez) of Parksley and Mio Ward (Jennifer Cardoza) of Wachapreague; her sisters, Peggy Beasley, Nancy Tatum and Fredia Ward; her grandchildren, T. K. Wessells, Andy Wessells, Candi Guzman, Christina "Kiki" Lopez, Leonel Lopez, Luci Espitia, Alicia Soto, Didi Espitia, Brenda "Baby" Horne, Ashley Chavez, Myrka Chavez, Tristan Short, Julia Jones, Carlisle "Bubba" Jones and Andrew Chandler; and her close friend Bonnie Cropper. She is also survived by 12 great-grandchildren.
