He was predeceased by: his parents, Clyde and Bea Chappell of Roanoke. He is survived by: his children, Sidney Chappell Green (Tommy Green) and Jack Hamlin Chappell, Jr.; the mother of his children Elizabeth Angus Ashley; his grandsons, Derrick Alden Chappell and Cameron Ashley Chappell; and his siblings, Don Chappell of Roanoke, Richard Chappell of Richmond and Jane Bryant of Salem.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Richmond's First Baptist Church in Jack's memory.
