She was predeceased by: her parents, Sylvester James Peresie and Winnifred Daniel; her brother James Michael Peresie; and her husband David Carothers. She is survived by: her siblings, Judith Goodman and Jeffrey Peresie; her son Christopher Carothers (Karen Mitchell Carothers); and her nephew Donald Goodman III.
In lieu of flowers, donations could be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, as it was a charity JoAnn supported generously over the years.
