He was predeceased by: his parents, Thomas Laurie Lyne, Sr. and Anne Hicks Lyne; his siblings, Col. Thomas Laurie Lyne, Jr. and Joan Pomeroy; and his in-laws, Lucy Boone, Robert and Joan Pomeroy.

He is survived by: his wife Sylvia Boone Lyne; his children, Debra Barnes (David), Joseph Christian Lyne, Jr. (Stephany) and MaryAnne Snavely (John Messersmith); his grandchildren, Scott, Kati, Kevin, Chris, Barbera, Carter and Allie; his stepgrandchildren, Cole and Faith; and his great grandchildren, Christian, Wade, Paxton and Isabel. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
